UPA: The Association – Official League Rules & Agreement

1. Overview

UPA: The Association is a free-to-enter NBA 2K league with a guaranteed prize pool. By registering, teams agree to abide by all rules, regulations, and fines as outlined in this agreement. Compliance is mandatory for participation and prize eligibility.

2. League Schedule & Format

  • The league will be divided into 2 conferences, with 4 divisions total.

2.1 Key Dates & Structure

  • Registration Period: March 19 – March 31. Late registrations will not be accepted.
  • Regular Season: Structured, scheduled games with assigned match times.
  • Playoffs: The top finishing teams from the regular season will compete in a structured playoff bracket to determine the league champion.
  • All games must be played as scheduled. Rescheduling is only permitted under league-approved circumstances.

3. Team Requirements

  • Each team must consist of exactly 5 players at the start of the season.
  • Roster changes after registration will incur a $20 fee per player added.
  • All roster changes must be updated on the LeagueOS platform to reflect the exact roster that is playing. Failure to update the roster on LeagueOS will result in a $50 fine.
  • Teams must display “UPA” in their official team name and have the UPA Association logo on their court. Failure to comply results in a $20 fine per violation.

4. Fines & Fees

Teams will be fined for violations as follows:

  • Roster Management:
    • Adding a player after registration: $20 per player.
    • Failing to maintain an updated roster on LeagueOS: $50 fine.
  • Branding Compliance:
    • Missing “UPA” in team name: $20 fine per instance.
    • No UPA logo on the court: $20 fine per game.
  • Game Conduct:
    • No-show for a match: $50 fine for the first offense, $75 for the second, $100 for the third (3 no-shows = removal).
    • Forfeiting without 24-hour notice: $50 fine.
    • Using unregistered players: $50 fine + possible match forfeit.
    • Intentional quitting or disconnecting: $50 fine + potential suspension.
  • Behavioral Violations:
    • Toxicity in league channels: $25 fine per violation.
    • Harassment of players or staff: $50 fine + possible suspension.
  • Competitive Integrity:
    • Exploiting game glitches: $50 fine + potential match forfeit.
    • Match-fixing/collusion: $100 fine + possible season ban.

5. Deadlines & Compliance

  • All rosters must be finalized by March 31. Any additions after this date will incur fees.
  • Game results/screenshots must be submitted within 6 hours post-match.
  • Teams with unpaid fines are ineligible for playoffs or prize winnings.

6. Agreement & Enforcement

By signing up, teams acknowledge and accept these terms. Violations will not be disputed. Failure to comply may result in fines, match forfeits, or removal from the league.
